Eligemadera

My goal was to create a logo that represented both Chile and innovation in wood construction. The symbol is inspired by the copihue, Chile’s national flower. The background is inspired by a verse of the Chilean national anthem, referencing Chile’s ocean and blue skies. The white letterforms in “Eligemadera” represent the Cordillera de los Andes that runs across Chile, also inspired by the national anthem. The typography includes two ligatures: the “M” and “A” evoke the peaks of Torres del Paine. The final “A” represents the volcanoes that shape the landscape of Chile’s VIII Region, where the company is based.
